forces that fight and pull against
one another that it seems it will
be torn in two. Even within
individual nations there is
divisiveness and turmoil. What
is the place of the individual
Christian in these times? Teach
us to walk with wisdom and share
Your grace with those in need.
call some individuals to champion a specific cause or to fill a spot that places them in power
and influence. However, the call I place on others to be faithful, joyful, and obedient in their
daily lives is of no less power or importance. Do not measure influence by its appearance in
human realms. A faithful heart and life lived before Me has an effect that will not be known
until I reveal all things for what they truly are. I am the One that you are to live your life for. I
am the One Who knows its worth and influence.
It is no small thing that I call you to pray. It is not simply the tired duty of every Christian.
It is not simply the "only thing left to do". I have ordered the universe in such a way that
prayer is its most powerful force, second only to Me as head over all. As you pray, seek My
kingdom over all else. Ask that it would reign in the lives of those you know and love. Love
them yourself with the same compassion and strength with which I have loved you.
Remember that My kingdom is not synonymous with any particular government, political
party, or social issue. I seek to bring people to My heart because I love them. I love all of
them from every nation, every race, every party, and every viewpoint. I want you to pray that
they would find Me, not that they would become like you. I will make them what I want them to
be. Do not think of anyone as outside the reach of My touch or My power to redeem. Many
are held in the icy grip of the enemy through sin, fear, loneliness, addiction, blindness, and
lies. I died to set each of them free, and My blood, death, burial, and resurrection are more
than powerful enough to complete the work. I have set each of my children in their place to
pray for My grace to prevail and tear away the veil that lies over the hearts of those around
them.
Of course you should pray with great faith for the leaders of the world; it is My command
that you should. Pray for the unfolding events of the day for I hear your voice and answer your
call. You are the salt and light of the world, and I want you to live like it. But do not forget that
you are the salt and light of your home, of your daily chores, of the store you shop in, of your
workplace, of your classroom, of your family vacation, of the restaurant you eat in, of the
streets you drive. To live in these daily areas with joy, thanksgiving, love, patience, humility,
and gentleness releases a power and influence that only eternity can measure.
I am the Lord over your life, and I place you where I want you. Do not restlessly seek
other arenas nor resist My Spirit by holding tightly to the old when I am moving you to
something new. I am your life, so hold everything else with an open hand. I will fill your hands
with blessing, healing, joy, and power that will overflow freely to those I bring both across your
path and into your life.
