We are totally flying by the seats of our pants! I guess, if anything, I learn by watching DIY, just like I learned to cook by watching Food Network. But watching only takes you so far. It gives you ideas. In order to actually learn, I have to just do it. Even with electrical work, I watched Jeff change several light fixtures, but I didn't really get it until I changed one myself (the one and only electrical job I have done). I plan to post from time to time, as we make progress. I just had a lot to catch up on, since we've been working on this longer than I've been blogging. <br />And I can't wait for you to see it, either, because it means you'll be here!Katy Englandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16619150355410737726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4533610347155677273.post-66768693167308372632012-09-24T10:21:16.945-04:002012-09-24T10:21:16.945-04:00Wow, Katy! Neither Nathan nor I have the know how to renovate (makes me glad we rent) but at the same time, I can imagine the deep sense of satisfaction you must have when a project is finished. It's YOURS! I can't wait to see it in a few years!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07285770038740985193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4533610347155677273.post-16993251976975024422012-09-24T09:33:01.386-04:002012-09-24T09:33:01.386-04:00I think I need to watch this show, too. It might make me feel better about the fact that the drywaller tracked gypsum powder all over the freshly-refinished floors in two bedrooms...that Matt's solution to the unremovable metal anchors in our plaster wall was to hammer them in and fill in the resulting craters with spackle...that there are twenty-odd cans of paint and Lord knows how many cans of spray paint left over from the previous inhabitants and some of them are older than my seven-year-old...not to mention the seven gallons of vegetable oil they left in the garage...Kaehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11906948513655168308noreply@blogger.com
